Ivan Ukhov started his athletics career as a discus thrower, but after winning the high jump in the European Junior Championships 2005 he has been focused on the high jump. Ukhov jumped high at a an early age and cleared 2.37 metres for the first time at 20 years of age. With Ivan Ukhov you never know what to expect, at the London Olympics 2012 he lost his shirt during the final, had a minute of panic and still managed to win the gold.
2014 was the best season for him so far, setting a personal best with 2.42 metres. He is a strong candidate in the hunt for the world record during the upcoming season.
